Session Description

Early September last year refugees stuck in the train station in Budapest decided to walk towards western Europe in what was soon referred to as #marchofhope; many of the people welcoming the refugees organized themselves via an etherpad. But soon, online vandalism rendered it useless for organizing. Can we do better than that? This will be a hands on workshop exploring the existing tools to come up with a recommendation for ad hoc organizing that is more resistant to vandalism, with a lense on how to preserve the integrity of the identities of yourself and others while undertaking online activism in modern contexts.
